Recovery Timeline

Recovery Schedule You know what happens on each day, in advance

Day 0 · Surgery Day

It starts in the recovery room

You rest with cold compresses and a condition check before heading home. On your way out we hand you the home care kit and your contact person's details. What to do that first night is already written in the guidebook.

Day 1–2

Hyperbaric oxygen · Recovery laser

This is when swelling peaks. You come in for hyperbaric oxygen and recovery laser to create conditions that support your recovery.

Day 3

Progress check

We check how swelling and bruising are progressing. For those recovering more slowly, an anti-swelling injection is recommended individually based on your condition.

Day 5–7

Suture removal · Scar care begins

Sutures are removed, and scar care begins the same day. With scars, when you start matters, so we do not let this window pass.

Week 2 – Month 1

Swelling and scar follow-up

This is when visible swelling settles. Recovery laser continues while we monitor how the scar is maturing.

Month 3 onward

Regular follow-up

Fine swelling gradually finds its place. The chief director checks your progress personally, and you are welcome back any time a question comes up.

Hyperbaric Oxygen

The day after surgery, forty minutes in a quiet chamber. You breathe a high concentration of oxygen while your body is given conditions that help it focus on recovery. Phone set aside, nothing you need to do. Patients often say it is the first moment after surgery that their mind settles.

Recovery Laser

Supports circulation around the surgical area, helping swelling and bruising subside. Intensity is adjusted to your recovery stage. No pain — only a gentle warmth. Most patients receive it while they are already in for a follow-up.

Anti-swelling Injection

For some, swelling lingers longer than expected. Because recovery speed differs from person to person, we check your progress first and recommend it individually where needed. Not applied uniformly to everyone. Offered to the person who needs it, when they need it.

Scar Care

With scars, when care begins is what matters. From taping right after suture removal to scar ointment and, if needed, scar laser — each at its proper time. Where revision surgery has layered scars, we follow them for longer. We stay with it until we can tell you, "This looks settled now — you do not need to come back for this."

Frequently Asked Questions What patients ask most about recovery

When does the swelling go down?

It varies considerably between individuals. Generally, visible swelling settles substantially around the two-week mark, while fine swelling gradually resolves over three to six months. Because this depends on the extent of surgery and your constitution, we check your condition at follow-ups and advise the care you need.

How many care sessions will I have?

We do not apply a fixed number uniformly to everyone. Since recovery speed differs from person to person, we check your condition at each follow-up and advise the care needed at that point.

I am only in Korea for a short stay. Can I still receive this care?

Yes. We adjust the in-clinic care schedule around your stay so the key sessions fall within your time here, and send you home with the home care kit and a day-by-day recovery guide. Please tell us your travel dates during consultation and we will plan the recovery schedule with you.

What happens after I return home?

Recovery continues with the home care kit and the day-by-day guide. Send us photos through our messenger channel and we will review your progress. If a follow-up truly requires an in-person visit, we tell you in advance so you can plan around it.
